As a non-athlete, I would have never believed I would run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days—and be one of 34 women, only .01% of the world’s population—to complete the World Marathon Challenge. Although nothing in my past could have predicted this, I have defied the odds since infancy. Born three months premature, weighing 3.5 pounds, I had no expectation of ever running, let alone becoming an elite international athlete.
