“It is not the mountains we conquer, but ourselves.”
I love traveling, exploring new areas and going on new adventures. Trail running and spending time in nature has became one of my favorite past times.
Spending time in the mountains really takes things back to basics. There is no cell service, no wifi, no social media, no work emails... It’s just you and mother nature. This time spent away allows you to just be in the moment and recognize the beauty of the little things.
When was the last time you allowed yourself to let go of thoughts centered around work or your to do lists? When was the last time you stopped talking or thinking for long enough to really listen to the birds sing, hear the wind in the trees, smell the flowers, or gaze out on the landscape in front of you?
We take all of these little moments for granted. But I’ve found that spending time in the mountains and in nature reintroduced me to the value of the little things in life and the beauty of these tiny moments.
Being surrounded by the mountains has a powerful effect on something deeper. It’s as if being amidst something greater than ourselves changes our perspective and insight on life and the things that really matter. Somehow without trying, you are able to re-evaluate your problems, your goals, and your desires and you start to see the bigger picture.
There’s never a time that I’ve left without feeling refreshed, happy and inspired… ready to take on anything that came my way. I encourage you to take some time in nature and see where it takes you. When you put yourself out there & you challenge yourself, both physically and mentally, you grow. When you push yourself outside your comfort zone, you flourish. When you complete something you started and see it through to the end, you make progress. When you get lost or fall down, you learn.
The mountains are calling… it’s time to go!!
